If you are a family member and branch officer, then you can log into the members' volunteer area. To do this please log into the members' area using your personal family member login details. On the subsequent page you will need to enter the secure username and password given to you by Central Office. Please check with your branch committee or Potential Plus UK's Central Office if you don't have this additional secure username and password.
Volunteers are an important and integral part of our charity and many services could not be delivered, locally or nationally, without a committed and active volunteer base. We provide opportunities for many different types of volunteering experience from supporting a local club, to working with children at one of our national events, to sitting on our Board of Trustees.
Explorers Clubs are run by a committee of local volunteer member families and provide activities for children and support for their parents. There are a wide range of volunteer opportunities at Explorers Clubs across the country. Check if there is a club near you or consider setting up a new club in your region.
Children's Activity Leader; Children's Activity Helper; Committee Chair, Treasurer, Activity Organiser or Safeguarding Person; PR/Marketing Coordinator; General Helper; Website Coordinator.
Most roles require just a few hours each month, but can make a huge difference to the viability and smooth running of the club. Click here for more information.
Board of Trustees
As a charity we have a Board of Trustees that oversees the work of the organisation. They meet three times a year, usually at Central Office in Milton Keynes, as well as attending a strategy away day and the the Annual General Meeting in October, which is usually held as part of the BIG Family Weekend.
Our BIG national events would simply not be possible without the support of volunteers registering families, helping in the children's activities, serving refreshments, assisting with parking and a multitude of other tasks. Check our Events Diary for the next BIG events.
Central Office and the local clubs are always looking for volunteers, who can devote a few hours weekly, monthly or now and again to help provide activities and services. We can offer an induction to the organisation/group and out-of-pocket expenses where appropriate. Central office also provides training appropriate to the volunteer role, such as Safeguarding Awareness, Information and Advice Service Skills, Finance and Fundraising. For many roles, especially those where the volunteer is likely to come into contact with children, we do require an up-to-date Enhanced CRB disclosure. However, if you do not already have one, or it is a little old, then we can process a new one for you.
Every two years we aim to celebrate the dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers at an annual Awards Ceremony; however our ability to do this is based on the availability of funding or sponsorship. We are currently looking at opportunities for 2013.
