Discover how plants flourish by dissecting stems, leaves and flowers. Working with an magnifying glass under supervision, you will be given your own plant to be dissect carefully. Learn about the life cycle of the plant and discover more about the flower sepals, petals, carpal, nectarines, receptacle and stamens. You will be shown examples of botanical illustration and choose and then develop your own style to illustrate and annotate your discoveries using pencil and ink. All drawings will be available to take home.

Stephanie Hartick is the masterclass leader. She is a Chartered member of the Landscape Institute and has led and supervised many projects concerning environmental planning and the creation of the new landscapes in New Zealand, Central America, Germany and the UK. Stephanie has over six years experience in gifted education and in creating workshops dedicated to developing lateral thinking about the environment. She believes that by making education fun and stretching thinking across conventional borders a child’s thinking can be improved in all areas. Stephanie is also a passionate and often messy artist so wear your old clothes to her workshops!
