The new Scratch makes it possible to program BBC Micro:bits – so let’s give it a go! For Scratch Day on 11th May, we’ll be exploring how to integrate the fantastic features and sensors on the Micro:bit with the flexibility of Scratch programs. Our young programmers will make a program from Scratch or could bring one they have started at home. By the end of the workshop, they’ll have planned and begun building a Micro:bit game controller or score board to integrate the physical world with the digital. With a flick of the wrist, the Micro:bit accelerometer will control game characters, or the score board will keep us updated as the game gains momentum.
We recommend beginners come along to the 10am session and those who have been coming to our clubs for a little while or have some knowledge already to come to the 12.30pm session.
The timings of this workshop are:
- 10am – 11.30am
- 12.30pm – 2pm
- 2.30pm – 4pm
