Become a sculptor for the day and see the world in three dimensions. Learn how to sketch in 3D, mold a bust, tangle a wire, recycle your old cans and cardboard, and create a surrealist sculpted self – portrait. We shall explore the craft, and seek inspiration form the skills of old Italian masters, as well as of more modern and contemporary artists such a Pablo Picasso, Juan Miro, Thomas Moore and Alexander Calder. This project will push your creativity to sketchbook at least A4 in size. Children will:
- Sketch
- Tangle a wire to make a mobile
- Make an abstract sculpture
- Make a human sculpture
- Create a surrealist self – portrait (3D)
- Make and sculpture with raw material (clay, wood, stone, leaves)
Anouk Sallansonnet is the masterclass leader. Anouk worked for GIFT for over 5 years. She developed and delivered workshops at Tate Britain, developing workshops on a variety of topics e.g. making sculptures, the relationship between art and nature as well as exploring different art movements and practices.
