If you come down to the woods today, the Science Oxford Centre will be opening its doors. Delve into our centre, a place for investigation and creativity – an exciting place where children can design their own experiments and make their own discoveries. Families of adventurous can tour our Exploration Zone, and see the world differently through our hands – on exhibits. Try out scarf – shooting and marble run building, create flying objects that hover over our air table, and watch water freeze before your eyes!

We have a special activity for Oxford Green Week all about the world around us. Explore the Earth, air and oceans all while chatting to environmental chemists. ID some mystery water samples, catch your breath using air monitors and clean up microplastics polluting our ecosystem.

Outside in our 15 – acre woodland, families can follow our trails and explore this beautiful outdoor setting. Perhaps beady – eyed detectives will even pick up some signs of wildlife in the woods: nuts nibbled by mice, fox footprints or deer couches – or hear the calls of some of our local birds.

The times for this event are:

  • 12.30pm – 2.30pm
