Do you know someone who has gone ‘above and beyond’? Someone whose insight, encouragement and enthusiasm has had a positive impact on the high learning potential community?
The Above and Beyond Awards celebrate parents, teachers, support staff and other professionals in the UK who go ‘above and beyond’ to help exceptional young people achieve their high learning potential. They also celebrate the achievements of children and young people in the UK, ‘above and beyond’ expectation for their age, who help in the wider community or are overcoming challenges in order to excel.
Closing Date for Nominations: 5.00pm, Friday 11th January, 2019
Nominations, which include self-nomination, are invited for children and young people, parents/carers, schools, resources, therapists and extra-curricular provision who have
- recognised a need in the support of children/young people with high learning potential/dual or multiple exceptionality
- developed strategies/resources to help support children and young people within education and the community
- shared their knowledge and experience with others to further the development of children of high learning potential or dual or multiple exceptionality
- continue to develop and plan for the future.
Inspirational Young Person Award
Do you know an inspiring young person? This award honours someone, aged 19 and under, with high learning potential, who has recognised a need, campaigned for or contributed to change and has inspired or supported others.
Young Person’s Resilience Award
This Award for resilience recognises a young person with high learning potential, aged 19 and under, who has overcome the odds and achieved their goal, while facing challenging circumstances in a home/school/health/external situation.
Inspirational Parent/Carer Award
This award recognises a parent/carer who acts as a role model for children and adults in how to support and inspire children/young people with high learning potential.
Inspirational Teacher Award
This award recognises the difference that an inspirational teacher can make to the development and wellbeing of children/young people with high learning potential.
Effective Provision in School Award
This award recognises the efforts of schools to identify, support and inspire children/young people with high learning potential, their parents and other schools.
Effective DME Provision in School Award
This award recognises effective provision within school for learners with both high learning potential and a disability, known as dual or multiple exceptionality (DME).
Inspirational Support Staff Award
This award recognises the work of an inspirational member of support staff for high potential learners.
Inspirational Extra-Curricular Provision Award
This award is aimed at providers of high quality/high impact extra-curricular support to the high learning potential community. Inspirational Extra-Curricular Provision Award
Inspirational Therapist Award
This award is given to an inspirational therapist who has been involved in the adaptation of approaches to therapy for children/young people with high learning potential and/or dual or multiple exceptionality.
Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award is sponsored by GT Voice and will be presented to an individual who has had a positive and ongoing impact on the provision of education and support of children/young people with high learning potential/dual or multiple exceptionality.
